Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for successfully onboarding all new clients and leading special projects. The role is dynamic, and the team strives to lead by example. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, a thorough understanding of financial software systems, a strong desire to research and learn, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to thrive in a collaborative environment.

  • Financial Records Cleanup: Lead the effort to review and reconcile financial records for new clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Identify discrepancies, errors, and inconsistencies, and implement corrective measures to clean up the books efficiently.
  • Process Improvement Initiatives: Evaluate existing accounting processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and areas for improvement. Develop and implement strategies to streamline workflows, enhance accuracy, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Technical Assistance: Serve as a subject matter expert and provide guidance to team members encountering complex accounting issues or challenges beyond their expertise. Offer solutions, troubleshoot problems, and offer training or mentorship as needed to facilitate resolution.
  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Contribute to preparing financial statements, reports, and analyses as required. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making and business planning efforts.
  • Provide training and other support as necessary to the company.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience.
  • Comfortable in working with US-based client.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proficient in MS Office especially MS Excel (can use Excel basic functions such as simple formulas and produce accounting reports).
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Good tenure with previous companies (stays with companies for at least a year).
